What began as a home nail studio in Calgary has grown into one of Canada's most trusted sources for professional nail and spa essentials. DK Beauty has been serving nail technicians, spas, and beauty enthusiasts since 1999 — and the passion behind it has never wavered.
Where It Started
At the height of my career as a nail technician, I turned my home studio into a teaching space — offering nail courses and mentoring aspiring technicians to build their own businesses. That drive to share knowledge became the foundation of everything DK Beauty stands for today.
The Leap
In 1999, I signed the lease on my first storefront — then called Just Nailz. I remember the sleepless nights that followed. Was this the right move? Would customers take a small, independent business seriously among established competitors?
They did. Word spread quickly, drawn by our expertise in nail technology and a carefully curated product selection that included many beloved Canadian brands. What started as a leap of faith became a thriving community.
Becoming DK Beauty
The evolution from Just Nailz to DK Beauty was a natural one — a family effort to modernize, expand, and better serve the ever-changing needs of nail professionals. Launching our online store opened the door to customers across Canada, bringing our curated selection and industry knowledge to a much wider community.
