Ugly Duckling Colour Gel 012

Ugly Duckling Colour Gel 012 is a highly pigmented potted colour gel for full-colour coverage and nail art. Its slightly thicker viscosity than Ugly Duckling Gel Polish suits professionals who prefer working from a pot.

• Most shades in the range cover in one coat; apply additional thin coats as needed.
• Suitable for full-colour application, nail art and encapsulation.
• Can be mixed with Ugly Duckling Gel Polish or Art Gels to create custom shades.
• Soakable formulation; can also be removed by filing.

Application over natural nails

1. Prepare the nails according to Ugly Duckling's professional protocol: wash and dry hands, gently push back the proximal nail fold, lightly etch the nail plate and remove dust. Avoid oil-containing cleansers.
2. Apply Ugly Duckling Prep and Primer.
3. Apply one coat of Natural Base or Build-A-Base, cap the free edge and cure for 60 seconds in the Ugly Duckling LED Gel Lamp. Leave the inhibition layer intact.
4. Apply Colour Gel sparingly in even, thin coats, capping the free edge. Cure each coat fully for 60 seconds in the Ugly Duckling LED Gel Lamp. Apply one to three coats as needed. Avoid freeze-curing or overly thick application, which may cause wrinkling.
5. Apply your chosen Ugly Duckling Top Coat and cure for 60 seconds.
6. For Tacky Top or Matte Top Coat, allow the cured nails to cool for 45–60 seconds before removing the inhibition layer with Gel Cleanse.

Application over enhancements

Finish-file acrylic, sculpting gel, Velveteen Acrygel or Build-A-Base with medium-grit abrasives and remove dust. Do not buff to a finer finish or use cleanser, alcohol or acetone on the prepared enhancement surface. Apply Colour Gel directly without Prep, Primer or Base Coat, then follow the colour and top-coat steps above.

Removal

Colour Gels can be soaked or filed off. Ugly Duckling prefers professional file removal. Follow the manufacturer's removal protocol.
