BPAN Day Awareness

10 years ago at 14 years old our little Warrior Katanna was diagnosed with a ultra rare disease called Bpan. Beta-propeller protein-associated neurodegeneration (BPAN) is a disorder that damages the nervous system and is progressive. 

Affected individuals develop a buildup of iron in the brain . It comes with so many sub conditions that continue to progress over time. Katanna is a true warrior to us as she has already been through so much in these 10 years and there is still no cure. Parkinson's and dementia started to develop and she started to rapidly lose weight as she was unable to eat on her own. It's heartbreaking for a parent to watch their child go through all this pain and for them to not fully understand what is happening to them or why. But Katanna truly is our hero as she does it all with smiles and laughter and the true warrior spirit.

February 28 show support wear your stripes for all these truly amazing Warriors with Bpan and other rare diseases around the world. Help us bring awareness to this disease and help us find a cure.
